FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF TURKISH BASIC METAL INDUSTRY: COMBINING AHP AND TOPSIS

Financial performance evaluation is crucial for competitive business world. Steel and iron industry both high-tech heavy machine labor-intensive industry, which makes it operating in a highly environment. Therefore, the aim of this study to evaluate financial Turkish steel sector. For aim, ratios 17 basic metal firms listed Borsa Istanbul 2017 are calculated. Liquidity, efficiency, profitability capital structure considered as main criteria performance. By using Analytical Hierarchic Process (AHP), these related sub-criteria each them assessed weighted. These weights then used Technique Order Preference by Similarity Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) ranking. Obtained ranking compared with based on companies’ closing prices results reveal that 15 companies (88.235%) two rankings very close. concluded combining AHP TOPSIS should be evaluation.
